There’s a new-found sense of unity, camaraderie and sense of purpose among MLQU’s internal staff and employees that hopefully will translate into greater commitment and better delivery of services in the days ahead.
The buzz of enthusiasm was palpable after 60 of them participated in a whole day strategic planning session capped with a dinner afterwards last July 28.
Organized by the office of MLQU President Paquito N. Ochoa Jr., the event was primarily designed to create a clearer appreciation and deeper understanding of the school’s mission and vision as well as its offerings among its internal personnel. It was also a way of expressing management’s high regard for the value and importance of their individual roles in the university, considering most of them are ‘invisible” or ‘inconspicuous” to the public.
In his talk, MLQU President Ochoa underscored the fact that the students are first and foremost the university’s main stakeholders and therefore must be treated with utmost care, due courtesy and respect. After giving the attendees a broad sweep of the 27 degree programs offered by the university, he enjoined each employee to master every detail in order to confidently discuss the program offerings during inquiries by student prospects.
