The debating team of MLQU’s Legal Management Society was judged as second best in the recently held “ Breakthrough: Legal Management Debate Cup” at St. Thomas Hall, Colegio de San Juan De Letran, Intramuros.
Organized by Letran Legal Management Society, the bout was participated by legal management organizations of various colleges and universities.
The MLQU team members pitted their debating prowess against their counterparts from the Letran Management Society (LMS).
The members of MLQU debating team were Angelo Langgam (freshman) Lana Oblino (freshman) and Ericka Peralta (sophomore). Jennine De Lumen was the Debate head and Student guide while the Debate Adviser was Atty. Khrisna Sunico.
The debate revolved around the Resolution: “Whether or not the privatization of public utilities will result in improved services and better management.”
The debate type employed was Asian Parliament. LMS took the affirmative (government side) while Holy Angel University articulated the negative side (private sector).
Deploying rational, reasoned arguments and compelling evidence in action, MLQU debaters shone with their rhetorical eloquence while showing poise and confidence.
The overall champion was the debating team from Holy Angel University of Angeles City, Pampanga.
