In the Lunar calendar, 2023 is the Year of the Water Rabbit

Happy 2023!

In the Lunar calendar, 2023 is the Year of the Water Rabbit, which is predicted to be a year of hope. The sign of Rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity.

From my perspective, the message is that you should strive to achieve your planned activities by leaps and bounds.

Embrace the year with greater determination to be better, to do more.

Don’t let limitations hinder you. Leap over them. Think beyond the bounds. Exceed expectations.

Now that we are in the midst of celebrating MLQU’s 75th year, I encourage you to discover more about its history and legacy. Be inspired by the alumni luminaries who have passed through MLQU’s halls and gone on to contribute to the building of our nation, which is a continuous work in progress.

The original founders envisioned MLQU as a school for the molding of “nation builders.” As heirs of their legacy, the torched has been passed on to us. It is now our task to re-envision MLQU as an institution for molding and shaping future generations of young Filipinos living in a vastly changed world who are challenged to bring the country to its rightful place among the ranks of prosperous, technologically advanced first-world nations.

We need to work together— management, faculty, studentry and alumni. At this historic juncture, let us begin the year by committing ourselves to build the future of this venerable institution on the foundation of a distinguished legacy, proving that even with age, our school is still as relevant as ever and attuned to the needs of a vastly new different world.

Finally, I wish to take this opportunity to welcome our students (old and new) who enrolled for the second semester of School Year 2022 to 2023. I wish you the best of luck as you navigate yourselves through the academic challenges.  The University Management is here to serve you.  My Office is open to you.  Feel free to come or let me know of your concerns through my email at officeofthepresident@mlqu.edu.ph.
